Hey folks. Just a quick note to let you know about my new website: http://tinydeskanimation.co.uk/. As the series continues, expect it to be packed with all sorts of extras. I've also managed to get a hold of some t-shirts. If you would like to buy one it would be very helpful and greatly appreciated. Consider it a 'real-time' kickstarter of sorts.
Big update on Clogged Tubes' status to come quite soon.
Well, first off, I've finally got around to setting the youtube channel up with episode 1 uploaded.
I must apologize again for the long wait for the next episode. It's been a bit difficult to stay on top of, but I have been making very good progress on the series recently. I've worked out a pretty good system now and I think you'll notice some very nice improvements over episode 1 in upcoming episodes. I also took some time to re-think a few things about the series (the overall story and theme remains the same, but I've just made some small tweaks here and there), and I've also been trying to make some arrangements which will be of great help to the series' progression in the long run, which could help production go much more smoothly.
There are one or two more things I will probably post updates about before the next release. For now, I leave you with a few screenshots from an upcoming episode:
Apologies for the long wait until the next episode. I had hoped to have it done by about mid january, but between the christmas madness, a house move and other stuff, that turned out to be a bit optimistic. I had to put it all on hold for a while.
But I'm hurrying through it now, trying to make up for lost time. I don't want to set any dates I can't make, but it is definitely on its way.
Once this episode's out, I'm going to start setting aside a lot more time to work on the series to get through it faster and to allow for more time to polish episodes. There's still a lot to get through in the series, and some particular episodes I really wanna hurry up and get to...
So, yeah, look out for episode 2 coming... soon? I think?
One of the main criticisms people have had with Episode 1 (and rightfully so) is that the voicing sucks major dick.
I didn't worry so much about voicing this time round, since the main character basically only has one line, and the other character won't be making any future appearances. I also deliberately made sure a major portion of the episode was text-chat based to help sidestep the issue. I figured if I could just get the first episode out, people could see what the series would be like, which would, hopefully, generate interest from more talented voice actors.
There are plenty more episodes of Clogged Tubes to come, along with a whole range of new characters that require talented voice actors/actresses to bring them to life. If anyone is interested in providing voicing for the series, just send me a pm or something to register your interest. (Anyone who has already pm'd me about voicing will already be considered.)
One important thing I just want to mention. The series is set in England, and, therefore, most roles are going to be for English characters, requiring proper, authentic sounding English/British voices. Whether you are English and can do the accent naturally, or you're not English but can put it on is fine, as long as it sounds authentic.
But there will also be some non-English roles throughout the series, so even if you can't do the accent, you can still register your interest and a suitable role may still come up.
In the upcoming second episode two new, very important characters will be introduced, who will be making returning appearances throughout the remainder of the series. I will give full details about the roles in due time.
Oh, also, I'll be using the api advertisement thingy with future episodes, so I will be able to pay you for your voicing.
The first proper episode of Clogged Tubes has been released.
Took a lot longer than I expected, due to other responsibilities (i.e. video games). More episodes to come with an interesting story to accompany it. It goes a bit deeper than 'hurr durr psycho girl kill people', but it's gonna take some time to develop.
The first episode of Clogged Tubes has been released. I started working on it a few months ago, but as I worked away on it, I kept finding little things that I wasn't happy with, and kept going back and forth changing things about it. It ended up a bit of an unorganized mess, so I was planning on scrapping it and just moving on to the next episode. But, since it'll probably be a while until the next one's ready, I took what had been finished of this first episode and quickly scribbled up the remainder of the animation and artwork for it, sorted out some sound and posted it as a 'test' episode of sorts.
But I'm confident the next one will work out better. I've been much more organized with it so far, and what I have done of it so far I'm much happier with. Not gonna rush this one, making sure it's as good as can be.
Well, I finally have something to show of the series. I've posted a quick trailer, about 50 or so seconds long. Despite it's short length, it's turned out failry large, about 5 mb, so I guess I'll have to consider turning the quality down for full episodes or they'll turn out way too large.
Anyway, this is my first ever attempt at any kind of animation, so I'm still learning as I go. Hope you guys like the trailer. With any luck, I should have the first full episode sometime this month.
Clogged Tubes (working title) is a little animation project I've been messing around with for a little while. I don't want to say too much just yet, but, in a nutshell, it's about a sadistic little 16 year old girl called Edith who has been mentally warped by overexposure to rather 'unpleasant' content on the internet due to parental neglect.
It is being traditionally animated frame-by-frame, so production is a bit slow. Here's a screen shot from one of the scenes to give you an idea of what it'll look like (none of the backgrounds have properly been drawn in yet).
I'll post more info and screens whenever ready.
